Blog #2

This is the fifth week of school already. Thus far, I’ve done a decent job of getting the skeleton of the capstone project done. I’ve installed the appropriate software, I’ve installed almost a dozen plugins for my site, picked a hosting service, gathered my sources, and outlined a couple of pages for one of my topics. That isn’t an awful start, but it’s time to get cracking’.

With the first month of the semester gone, I need to tackle the tedious aspects and start writing. I started an outline for the first topic I’m going to write about, mixing and mastering. I went back to my sources related to this topic and pulled quotes. My goal for this week is to start and finish writing the pages for mixing and mastering. Usually when I have to write I procrastinate on starting. Once I start writing I gain momentum and focus. However, I still don’t have a perfectly clear vision of what my project is going to look like. I know what my project is going to be about but it still feels vague. I need to do more outlining. I’ll continue to work on the site but outlining my pages and writing them should be my focus. I’d rather have to catch up on some WordPress housekeeping than writing thousands of words. It will get easier and easier to write these blogs once I get more work done on the project.
