Cableguys | TimeShaper

TimeShaper is another great product by Cableguys. This is one that I have used but have not purchased (yet). TimeShaper gives you more control than ever over your audio by shaping the flow of time. It doesn’t necessarily change what you recorded or the sample you are using, but rather manipulates how it is being heard and processed throughout time. This plugin is all about having the ability to grab a hold of time and do whatever you want with it.

With TimeShaper you can speed up or slow down your music instantly or gradually over time. In my experience with this plugin it is always interesting to transform an intro or an outro by having everything play much slower. This way the song feels less repetitive or monotonous and the listener stays interested. You can also do things like reversing audio which can add a lot of variety to a song. One trick I’ve come across is briefly reversing drums in transition sections. Also, you can create tape-stops and stutters which also take a track to the next level. The option to add stutters or glitches is great for vocal lines, especially if used wisely. The repeat feature is good for rhythmic ideas, building anticipation, or quickly emphasizing an idea.

One thing that is particularly special about TimeShaper is the multiband operation. This means you can individually manipulate different frequency ranges of one sound at the same time. You can reverse the deep low-end of a sound while adding glitches to the high top-end. This opens up endless possibility for creativity. It is also pretty easy to operate and add changes to your sound. There is always a visual representation of your audio which makes it easy to understand what is happening as you do it. Anything you want to do can be drawn in and curved. This plugin will improve your creativity and make your tracks much more interesting.
